Heating, Cooling & Climate Control is a course designed to prepare students for entry-level employment as a technician in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration industry. Students successfully completing the program will be given the EPA 608 Refrigerant Certificate exam. This certification meets the Federal EPA requirements and is required for employment as a technician in the HVACR field.

PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR

Instructor

Mr. Hanway has more than 28 years of experience in the HVAC/R industry. He received an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration from Southeast Community College, Milford, NE. He has worked in several roles throughout his career from HVAC Maintenance Mechanic, Residential HVAC Installation & Service, to Facilities Manager of Maintenance. Mr. Hanway received the Northland Chamber of Commerce Excellence in Education Award in 2023. He also received his DESE Continuous Career Education Certificate in 2015.

MWSU COLLEGE CREDIT

 12 hours of articulated credit towards an Engineering Technology field is available through Missouri Western State University after students complete 2 years at NCC and enroll at MWSU.

INDUSTRY RECOGNIZED CREDENTIALS/OTHER CERTIFICATIONS

Students may earn Gas H.E.A.T. Job Ready Certification, OSHA 10, Section 608 EPA, and Refrigerant Certification.
